Επιστολή τουρκόψυχων “δημοσιογράφων” της Δυτικής Θράκης σε ξένους πρέσβεις!

Η κρίση τουρκικών που υπήρξε στο συνέδριο με τίτλο ¨Συνθήκη της Λωζάνης και Μειονοτικές Ρυθμίσεις 90 χρόνια μετά¨, μεταφέρθηκε στους ξένους πρέσβεις στην Ελλάδα. Επιστολή υπογεγραμμένη από ιδιοκτήτες τουρκικών εφημερίδων, περιοδικών και ραδιοφωνικών σταθμών της Δυτικής Θράκης, στάλθηκε σε ξένους πρέσβεις στην Αθήνα.

Στην επιστολή περιγράφεται το πώς κατά την διάρκεια του συνεδρίου που είχε οργανωθεί από το ΕΛΙΑΜΕΠ και από το ¨Πρόγραμμα Εκπαίδευσης Μουσουλμανοπαίδων¨ παρεμποδίστηκε μέλος της μειονότητας να κάνει την παρουσίαση του στα τουρκικά. Στην επιστολή αναφέρεται πως το περιστατικό αποτελεί παραβίαση βασικού ανθρώπινου δικαιώματος και υπενθυμίζεται πως ως διαμαρτυρία στην απαγόρευση της επίσημης γλώσσας της μειονότητας των τουρκικών, αρκετοί ομιλητές μέλη της μειονότητας μεταξύ των οποίων πρώην και νυν βουλευτές, εγκατέλειψαν την αίθουσα. Στην επιστολή που στάλθηκε στις ξένες πρεσβείες, τίθεται η επιθετική και προσβλητική κατά της μειονότητας στάση που τήρησε στην διάρκεια του συνεδρίου ο Γ.Γ. του Υπουργείου Παιδείας Γιώργος Καλαντζής. Στην επιστολή που έστειλε ο μειονοτικός τύπος υπενθυμίζεται επίσης πως μειονοτικοί βουλευτές έθεσαν το θέμα της απαγόρευσης των τουρκικών στην επικαιρότητα της βουλής. Αναφέρεται πως το περιστατικό αυτό προκάλεσε αντιδράσεις από κύκλους των ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων στην Ελλάδα, και τονίζονται αυτά που έγραψαν και δημοσιεύτηκαν σε ιστοσελίδες από τον Παναγιώτη Δημητρά -εκπρόσωπο του Ελληνικού Παρατηρητήριου των Συμφωνιών του Ελσίνκι και τον καθηγητή του πανεπιστημίου της Μακεδονίας Δρ. Κωνσταντίνος Τσιτσελίκης.

Στην επιστολή που αναδημοσιεύουν τα tourkikanea αναφέρεται πως η επιβληθείσα στην επίσημη γλώσσα της τουρκικής μειονότητας Δυτικής Θράκης απαγόρευση δεν συνάδει με στάνταρ της Ε.Ε. και ότι αποτελεί ένα περιστατικό που δεν έχει χώρο σε μια σύγχρονη δημοκρατία.

Your Excellency,

We are writing to you to draw attention to an unfortunate recent event where the freedom of expression of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace was restricted yet again. This concerns a conference titled “The Treaty o f Lausanne: 90 Year Later-Framing Minority Issues” which was organized by the “Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy” (ELIAMEP) and the “Programme for the Education of Muslim Minority Children in Thrace” in Komotini on 22-23 November 2013.

On the first day of the conference a Minority member journalist was prevented by an official representative of our government from delivering his speech in Turkish despite the fact that he had been clearly assured before by the organizers that he could do so and despite the presence of an officially certified translator arranged for this purpose. Despite the fact that the organizers openly assumed the full responsibility, it was understood from the annexed articles that the order of restriction was given by Mr. George Kalantzis, the Secretary General for Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, directly to the organizers. Things got worse during the later course of the conference as Mr.Kalantzis based his speech on insults and false accusations against the Minority.

In order to protest this ban on the use of Turkish language-the native tongue of the Turkish Minority members- the journalist along with many participants, withdrew from the conference. The second day of the conference was also boycotted by many, among them two speakers- one of them a member of parliament and the other a former member of parliament- and the attendance level to the conference on the second day was very low due to this protest.

The reaction of the Turkish Minority to this state-imposed ban on language and to the hostile remarks of Secretary General Kalantzis was reflected through the Press Release of the Consultative Committee of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace- composed of all elected representatives and leading figures of the Minority. Furthermore, a number of MPs have raised the issue in the Hellenic Parliament through written questions addressed to the Minister of Education and Religious Affairs.

We would also like to inform you that this development has already aroused a reaction by Greek human rights circles as well. In this context, we would like to share with you the text of the article written by Mr. Panagiotis Dimitras, the Spokesperson of the “Greek Helsinki Monitor” which was published in the December – 2013 edition of “The Books Journal” and the text of the article written by Mr. Konstandinos Tsitselikis, Associate Professor, University of Macedonia and President of the Greek Union for Human Rights, published at website “protagon.gr.”.

As Mr. Dimitras and Mr. Tsitselikis rightly emphasize this incident is not isolated at all. We face such treatment and discrimination daily. We know well the efforts of some circles in our own state to defame the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace.

Through this letter, we wanted to reach out to you and share with you, just as an example, the unfortunate experience we had which, unfortunately, is no surprise to us. We are confident you would agree this official language-ban is far below the standards of the European Union and has no place in any modern democracy.

1)Να χαίρεστε τους οργανωτές του συνεδρίου εκείνου που έφεραν σε δύσκολη θέση τον σπάνιας αποτελεσματικότητας Γ.Γ. …..

2) Σκεπάζοντας το πρόβλημα κάτω από χαλί δεν είναι ο πλέον ενδεδειγμένος τρόπος να λύσεις ένα πρόβλημα. Ξέρετε πολύ καλά πως υπάρχουν πολλοί πράκτορες έμμισθοι της Τουρκίας στην Θράκη (μας το έχουν πει τα πλέον επίσημα χείλη) και δεν κάνετε ΤΙΠΟΤΕ για να τους εκθέσετε.
